We are still doing 25 days of crafts...we were on a penguin kick. One day we made a penguin/candy cane door hanger from a kit bought at the dollar store. Then another day we made North Pole craft using a solar light from the dollar store and some quilt batting as the snow. I had some old penguin foam stickers lying around to spruce it up a bit. Cute eh!?
This year I decided to do 25 days of crafts. I can't guarantee that I'll blog each day about them. Rather, it will most likely end up being a compilation of a few of them. I made these felt Christmas trees for the girls to decorate instead of messing up the "real" tree. Savannah helped with the ornaments, so she's pretty proud. I bought a yard of sparkly green felt at Joanns and used my own felt for the ornaments, star, and wood base. It can keep them occupied for a little bit...and they're cute!

crafts this season. Family trees! Fall leaves!
Savannah and I made these last year. Orange
colored lunch sacks filled with newspaper and tied to a ribbon with some ribbon
and leaves to make a fun pumpkin garland!
This pretty little thing was the "Welcome" sign that greeted people before entering for the party. I just used a foam wreath, made some flip flops out of foam and ribbon, and attached some flowers. Then I painted some wooden letters, glued them together and attached to the wreath. Aloha!
The Harry Potter Toy room under the stairs! I had a fun idea to take all of the JUNK out from underneath the stairs and found the old toy box! I used the colors of the toybox to decorate the room. Hung some string lights....put up a chalkboard...little couch...stars.....and voila! TOY ROOM!
I had the opportunity to help my brother-in-law prepare an anniversary gift for my sister. This is what he chose for her. I want to make one for my handsome hubby next year! I think they're ding-dang cute!
While I've been staying with my sister I have had nights where I was,
yes, bored. Because I can't pack up a lot of stuff I make I decided to
make things for this cute little family. Jocelyn, who is 9, has a fun
colorful room with purples, greens, pinks and blues. Rachel had
purchased some foam butterflies that she wanted to do something cute
with. Originally I was going to make a mobile of sorts hanging them from
the ceiling. Then it occurred to me, why not make a canopy? Turns out
you can get the gold ring used to hold the tulle for $1.99, 4 yards of
tulle at $1.47/yd at Joanns (Ah, I could go crazy in that store!).
Rachel had the butterflies of course and had the ribbon already, so this
simple little thing only cost me 8 bucks! It was a small way to give
Jocelyn's room a new look.
My oldest has two buddies who she's been inseparable with for the time we've lived in Virginia. So, to honor that friendship we created some scrapbooks with all their pictures we've take the past few years and put them in these cute "Remember Me" friendship scrapbooks. I think its kind of awesome! Whenever she misses her friends she can look back on all her happy memories!
Father's Day goodies! Check out the cool card I made...looks like dress shirt. Take a rectangle piece of scrapbook paper, cut one inch on both sides about an inch from the edge and fold them in as shown to form the collar. Decorate the outside as you wish...cut out a tie, make a pocket, add buttons...whatever! :) I also made a hugs and kisses mason jar, a superhero cape, a cute "grandpa" block...all things "pop" and stuffed them in a basket! Happy Father's Day!

This was the handbag I made for my mom for her birthday. I used pellon to make it stiff and sturdy. I added a pocket on the inside to hold little knick-knacks. The handles are medal wires with green beads. I decorated with a few handmade fabric flowers. I didn't use a pattern so it was a rough draft if you will, but I think it turned out okay. 
This is an event I had been planning for about a month and it was AMAZING! The theme was Dr Seuss' "Oh the Places You'll Go" and it was so fun to decorate for! I made pinwheel cookies with my dear friend and while they didn't turn out like these: http://www.soudersstudios.com/recipes/rainbow-pinwheel-cookies.php, I was pleased with the results. The book is filled with hot air balloons so I plastered the while with them and added quotes from the book to the gondolas. I made a sign pointing towards multiple directions in which they can head towards...College, Temple, and so on...The five girls shown are the graduating seniors we recognized last night. It was awesome, sure was a lot of work, but I'm glad we had such an awesome time!
Getting ready for Mother's Day? Here are a few ideas!
Check out my sweet card I made! My mom is the card maker in the family so I wanted to make something she would either enjoy or preferably want to remake! She loves getting ideas...so, what better way than to send her a card I made and not some random won I bought!
Babies, Babies, Babies! With all the new babies in the family...I've been making a bunch of nursing covers and carseat canopies! I've also made a carseat blanket. All of them come in handy when you need them! 
I was busy making crafts while I was visiting home, here are a few of the "creations"
I am particularly fond of the "Please Remove Your Shoes" signs I made. The burnt orange one I made for my mom and it features the cute little feet of my girls and my sister's son. The sign on the bottom left is a sign I made for my parents. It reads, "The only thing better than having you as parents is our children having you as grandparents." The fourth, as you can read, will end up in my bathroom and will hopefully encourage the kiddos to wash thoroughly!
This little beauty will go in my oldest daughter's room. I retyped the words so that you can read how sweet they are. I also go this poem from Pinterest!
This is something fun I made for my sister while she was in the hospital delivering her first child. It is a "Hospital Survival Kit"...I got the idea from Pinterest...LOVE Pinterest!
